Greater Things
What does it look like when a community of faith steps into its second year with greater expectation than its first? That is exactly the question at the heart of this message. Built around the words of Jesus in John 14:12, where he promises that those who believe in him will do works even greater than his own, we are invited to consider what it truly means to be a people sent out for a purpose beyond ourselves. The first year was a season of sowing, of tilling hard soil, of showing up in the cold and the uncertainty, trusting that the seeds being planted would one day produce something lasting. Now the message calls us into a year of harvest, not because of clever strategy or human effort, but because the God who never arrives late has been faithful every step of the way. The spiritual lesson here is profound and deeply personal: fruitfulness is not the result of our striving but of our abiding. When we remain connected to Christ as a branch remains connected to the vine, as Jesus teaches in John 15, the fruit that follows is not incidental. It is the very thing that glorifies the Father. This message challenges us to examine where we are placing our confidence and whether we are rooted deeply enough in the vine to bear fruit that lasts into eternity.
